SRUF News 2nd November 2026
Next term the children will be exploring sounds using instruments, bodies and natural resources to make their own sounds, recognising how sound changes and creating own instruments, music and songs.
We will be thinking about rhyme and repetition in the stories we share and extending rhyme lines using language from fireworks and potion making.
We will be celebrating and learning about Firework night, Diwali and Christmas.
Week 1 we will be sharing 'Room on a Broom' story sack, creating own potions and cauldrons, making wands and rocket number lines and exploring firework experiment.
The letter and sound will be 'W' and Makaton signs will be 'Firework' and 'Excited'.

Next week we will be sharing 'Pumpkin Soup' story sack.
We will be making tasty pumpkin soup, exploring dancing popcorn experiments and mixing orange, using textures and shapes to create pumpkins.
Next week letter and sound is 'A' and Makaton signs are 'Orange'
We were so lucky to have Tessa, from Tiny and Tall productions, visit us on Wednesday to run a workshop with the children based on 'Little Snowy Hare'.
The production will be at the Tobacco Factory Theatre from 3rd December.
It is such a lovely story and the children had lots of fun.
